Emma, Age 7 (detail)
24 x 18"
Charcoal on paper
SOLD
Prints: Available
This portrait was done for the Friends of the Pleasant Grove City Library's annual benefit known as the "Quick Draw," an evening when several local professional artists are invited to create a work of art on site at the library in 60 minutes or less. The artworks produced are then sold at auction the same evening and all proceeds go to the library.
Emma was there with her family to support her older brother, who was receiving a young artist award. She agreed to sit for me, and she turned out to be an excellent model. Her parents succeeded in acquiring the original drawing at the auction, but not before I had the chance to photograph it.
